Police officer arrested after he intentionally tried to drive into couples home

Abbeville County, S.C. (WACH)– SLED investigators have arrested a Laurens police officer in connection with a property damage incident in Abbeville County.

Twenty-seven-year-old Andrew Dean Ashley was charged with malicious injury to a house,tree;trespass upon real property,injury value $2000 or less.

According to the incident report, Ashley intentionally drove onto the property of two individuals, with his personal car, to cause harm and caused approximately $500 worth of damage.

This is a misdemeanor charge which carries a penalty upon conviction of up to 30 days i prison and a fine of up to $1,000 or both.

Ashley was booked at the Abbeville County Detention Center.
